At first it’s a smile that is bestowed on your face.  Life is going smooth and easy, at a constant pace.  Then one day a comment is made, and the words cut you like a blade.  A hurtful and painful statement that throws you for a loop.  It’s hard for you to mentally regroup. After all you have done and all you’ve been through, this person so easily hurts you. First, you feel the pain and then the rage.  Now pride sets in and your heart is placed in a cage. You can’t feel for a moment due to the sting. You keep your stiff face and your cold heart. The two of you grow further and further apart. Later you find it was a reason why this whole thing started.  The one that hurt you, was also broken hearted.  Now, the family is torn and starts to take sides.  This rift is all due to words and shameless pride.  To make a mend you have to love again.  It’s hard, but the alternative is pain will win.  Toss the pain and take a deep sign.  Let the hurt wash away like the tears from your eyes. Let it be over and bury your pride.  In the end you’ll feel better inside.

Reflection

We’ve all been hurt to the core.  I know from personal experience getting over it is never easy. We get made and pride settles in.  But in the end holding on to pain and unhappiness is never good.  It’s easier said than done, but let it roll off and forgive. Holding grudges will only hold us back in the end.
